The Magnatone Varsity reverb is the smallest and most simple combo in Magnatones Traditional Series, but make no mistake; this small powerhouse is extremely touch sensitive and has all of the magic american Magnatone sound in a simplistic classic combo design.

Amp design
The Magnatone Varsity Reverb amplifier was developed with input from Larry Cragg, Neil Youngs guitar tech through 36 years, to make sure that the amp sounds, reacts and feels just right.
Amp construction
Construction wise the amplifier is all hand-wired and all point to point. Magnatone uses the best components available like Magnetic Components Transformers and Switchcraft jacks and switches,
The Varsity reverb preamp section contains dual 12AX7 tubes, while the poweramp section is powered by EL84 tubes in a push-pull class A power amplifier design, rectified by a GZ34 tube, producing 15 very loud Watts with a bright and lively, classic american sound, choke full of character, color and harmonics.

The reverb section features a classic tube driven long pan spring reverb with 4 counterwound springs.
Control layout
The control panel features 2 Inputs, Volume, Treble and Bass knobs, Reverb knob, Negative Feedback on/off switch and Reverb Footswitch jack (and negative feedback) , 8Ohm Remote Speaker output jack, Line Out jack, On/Standby switch, Red Pilot light & On/Off Power switch.
